Haven’t Started Yet, Really Pumped Up!

In an effort to step up our altitude acclimation on day 3 our guide Victoria decided to take us on a “small” mountain biking excursion around the Peruvian countryside. Loved seeing other parts of the country at a slower pace but literally had my butt handed to me. In hindsight, to mountain bikers it was a small bike ride but to people who haven’t been on bikes in years it felt like part of an ironman!

Beautiful Countryside.

On route to start our mountain biking morning we stopped by to see my spirit animal! I wanted to cuddle him closer but I was advised against it. Never the less the locals got a good laugh out of it and I was happy to justify my hat purchase from Pisac!

JJ Pulled Over Fast When We Saw This Guy!

Don’t let the photos fool you, this “small” mountain bike trip was a struggle! I walked my bike more than I rode it and my poor butt was sore for a few days after bouncing around the hills on a bike seat.

What a Lake!

Just Keep Pedaling.

JJ, was kind enough to follow closely behind and I could’ve surrendered and rode in the van but I refused to give up. It was nice to have him there for water breaks!

JJ, the Real MVP!

Like I said the countryside was so pretty and it was nice to see it in a different way. We started near a beautiful lake, rode through a small town and then along some orange hills.

Legit Gorgeous Views. The Incas Really Knew How to Pick a Location!

A few sets of atv’ers passed us and kicked up the dust but otherwise it was a pleasant way to spend the morning. Turns out Vicky and her husband are pro mountain bikers so I’m sure they got quite the laugh out of our inabilities but honestly so did we!

Felt a Bit Never Ending.

Finished The Ride, Happy Sore Girls!
