400 Meters up, the Sky Lodge suspends off the side of the cliff. The only way up is Via Ferrata and the only way down is to zipline. We loved this once in a lifetime opportunity!
We thought after 4 days of hiking and a whole morning at Machu Picchu we still needed more adventure so up Huayna Picchu we climbed. Our Inca butts were looking pretty good after this one!
Machu Picchu is one of the most special places we have ever visited. After seeing pictures for years it was quite a feeling to finally be standing at this new wonder of the world.
The 3rd day of the Inca trail was amazing, a favorite day by far! Day 4 took us to our final destination of the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu.
The first 2 days of our 4 day hike along the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. This was a bucket list experience for sure. We lucked out in our private group and had a wonderful experience.
A great example of Incan technology still being used today is Marasal. Salt Ponds that have been passed down through the generations to mine salt.
A great afternoon stop, Moray is perfect to stretch the legs and learn how smart the Incas were with their microclimates and agricultural capabilities.
As a last hurrah before hitting the Inca Trail we did a Peruvian Countryside Mountain Bike Ride. It was gorgeous but tough!
2.5 KM Reverse hike from the top of the Pisac ruins to the town of Pisac. Nice hike down to continue acclimating to the altitude of Peru.
Awana Kacha is 25km outside Cusco and a great stop on the way to Pisac. The llamas and alpacas are happy to be fed by anyone who stops by.
