About Us

Hello! Hola! Bonjour! Hallo!

Hej! Ciao! Aloha! Sawubona!

We are Elise and Jess, two long time friends from a small town in Ohio.  Although we have been living across the country from one another for the last fourteen years, we have been fortunate enough to stay connected by traveling the world together.  While traveling solo can be fun, we believe that there is nothing quite like memories of traveling with your best friend.

Long lines at customs, I’m always too excited to get where I’m going or too excited to be back in my own bed that the customs line always feels like an eternity!

What is your favorite place you’ve ever been?

Joffre Lakes in British Columbia, Canada

What city has the best food?

So far, I’d say Vancouver!! After eating our way around Granville Island and finding Wildebeest, I’d say this is a city that i would never struggle finding good food in!

What is your dream vacation?

Ever since traveling Thailand and learning about elephants and animal cruelty, it has been in my heart to learn more about conservation. There is a trip to Africa that takes you into reserves and touches on conservation efforts. I would love to not only vacation here, but spend time assisting in these efforts!

What is your favorite thing about traveling?

The excitement of exploring new places with the best company! Experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, and trying things I’ve never done before!

What is your least favorite thing about traveling?

The stress of getting to and from…making plane connections, catching trains, checking into hotels/Airbnb’s…..making sure I have everything packed without forgetting the essentials, and spending nights away from my own cozy bed!

What’s in your daypack?

Sunscreen, Rain jacket, Wilderness wipes, Bug spray, Deodorant, Medication, Passport, Wallet, Water bottle/bladder, Quick dry towel, Light jacket, Chapstick, Portable Cell phone charger

Where is somewhere you’d go back to again?

Iceland! I still need to see those ice caves before global warming takes them over and seeing the northern lights never gets old!

What is your favorite memory traveling with Elise?

Our trip to the Westman islands was by far my favorite! From the moment we stepped foot off the ferry, we knew that this place was going to be an adventure. I don’t think i have ever laughed as hard as I did when Elise ordered and ate whale steak and then realized that it was a mammal (she’s a pescatarian)…..that is, until we got stuck on the island and left a brewery in the middle of the night to go find lava tubes and star gaze before settling into our hostel for the unplanned night on the island.

What is some advice for first time travelers?

Take in every moment! Find the positives in every situation. When traveling, things never go completely as planned, but there is beauty (and good times) in adjusting your schedule and finding things you didn’t originally plan on doing!

How many countries have you been to?

17!!
